2008-2009 Club Constitution
1 – The Club
1a The club shall be called “Ipswich United Football Club”.
1b The team colours and sponsorship companies will be agreed by the elected Committee.
1c One team shall compete in the Suffolk & Ipswich Football League.
1d One team shall compete in the Norfolk & Suffolk Veterans Football League.
2 – The Committee
2a The committee shall consist of 5 elected officers, the team managers & any other elected officers.
2b The 5 elected officers will be the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary & Club Captain.
2c The 5 elected officers can only be elected by the majority of those present at an AGM or EGM. 
2d The team managers will be appointed by the 5 elected officers.
2e The 5 elected officers may appoint a maximum of 5 other officers to the committee.
2f The managers may appoint their own assistants.
2g There shall be a minimum of 3 committee meetings per year. (June – May)
2h There must be a minimum of 5 members present before any committee meeting may commence.
2i The minutes of each committee meeting shall be recorded and made available at the AGM.
3 – Life Members
3a Life members are an honorary post.
3b Life members can only be elected by the majority of those present at an AGM or EGM.
4 – Annual General Meeting
4a The agenda for the AGM will be set by the committee. 
4b The club constitution and club rules can only be amended by the majority of those present at the AGM.
4c Proposed amendments to the club constitution or rules must be worded and passed by the committee.
4d All players and officials of the club will have at least 14 days written notice of the AGM.
5 – Emergency General Meeting
5a The EGM can only be called by the committee.
5b The agenda for the EGM will be set by the committee.
5c The club constitution and club rules can only be amended by the majority of those present at the EGM.
5d Proposed amendments to the club constitution or rules must be worded and passed by the committee.
5e All players and officials of the club will have at least 7 days written notice of the EGM.
6 – Accounts
6a All club monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the club.
6b The club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the club.
6c The financial year shall run 1st June until 31st May annually.
6d A pre-audited statement of annual accounts will be presented by the treasurer to the AGM or EGM.
6e Any cheques drawn against club funds will require 2 signatures.
7 – Discipline and Appeals
7a All complaints regarding the behaviour of a member should be in writing to the club secretary.
7b The committee will meet to hear complaints within 14 days of the complaint.
7c The committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action against the person cited.
7d There will be the right of appeal to the committee against any disciplinary action taken.
7e The outcome of a disciplinary hearing will be notified in writing to the complainant within 7 days.
8 – Dissolution of Club 
8a A resolution to dissolve the club can only be by the majority at an AGM or EGM.
8b In the event of dissolution, any assets of the club that remain will be donated to the Cancer Research.
